Cobb Salad In A Jar

I have been on the go lately and when I go to places...I don't always like to eat out.
I don't do fast-food...So this idea is a perfect and fun solution. Get your picnic
baskets ready and make a salad in a jar. You will be amazed at how fresh everything
stays....and let's face it, food tastes better in jars because it's so fun. I store dressing
        in little containers with lids.

                                                              Cobb Salad In A Jar

         1 pint cherry tomatoes
         6 slices, turkey bacon- cooked.
8 ounces turkey deli meat or chicken breasts
         1 to 2 avocado
         crumbled blue cheese or feta
         3 hard boiled eggs
         romaine lettuce

         Dressing
         3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
         2 tablespoons olive oil
         1 teaspoon dijon mustard
          salt and pepper.

All you have to do is layer the salad in the jar and be creative. Enjoy.

  50. Yum! I'm a big salad lover. Especially Cobb. I've actually heard that keeping the lettuce in a jar keeps it crisp and fresh for longer too.

  55. Just when I was worrying about how to maintain my Atkins during four ten-hour days of driving! Even though it's all through desert states, I always pack a cooler full of ice and all my reserved motel rooms have mini-fridges, so I should be OK with four of these and a couple of six-packs of pre-fab whey protein drinks. THANK YOU -- I saw this just in time!

    Sounds wonderful and so colorful....
    Can't go wrong

    ReplyDelete
  59. how many servings is this? most recipes say one serving of salad per jar, but with 3 hard boiled eggs, that seems like a bigger portion
