Is there anything more simple and delicious than a perfect grilled cheese?
I had been craving a grilled cheese for days but knew I wanted to kick it up a
few notches. Gooey cheese dunked in marinara and you have one happy girl.
Italian Grilled Cheese with Marinara
Ciabatta bread - cut into slices ( I made 3 sandwiches )
6 slices deli provolone cheese
6 slices deli mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup fresh parmesan cheese, grated
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
marinara sauce
1) Pre-heat pan with olive oil. To assemble sandwiches, place 2 slices each of
provolone and mozzarella cheese, If using ciabatta you might have to fold
in half. Place the other half of bread on top and cook in pan. Cook until golden.
Once both sides are grilled, Season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning and
parmesan cheese. Serve with your favorite marinara sauce and salad.
